Written to be useful whether or not you hire us.

No email gate, no download form. The whole thing is on the page.

Two questions come up before anyone hires a web company: what a website actually costs, and whether a Google listing is set up properly. Both have answers that do not depend on who you hire.

Start with the listing. Many of these checks take only a few minutes. Open yours in another tab and work down the list.

Accuracy comes before promotion. A customer should be able to confirm what the business does, where it works, when it is open, and how to make contact. The profile and website should give the same answers.

Work through the fields the business controls before worrying about tactics. Save the current information after each change and check the public profile again.

One business, one set of facts

Profiles, citations, website copy, and schema work better together.

A citation is a trustworthy mention of the business name, address, phone number, or website on another site. The Google Business Profile, major directories, social profiles, and the website should agree on those core facts.

SEO gives each service and location a useful page. Schema adds structured labels for the business, services, hours, address, and relationships between pages. Google Business Profile carries the public local listing. Together they reduce ambiguity for customers and search engines. None of them guarantees a ranking by itself.

  1. Primary category

Choose the most specific available category that describes the main business. Add other categories only when they describe services the business actually provides.

  2. Services

Review the service list and remove anything the business no longer offers. Add missing services with accurate names, descriptions, and prices where those details are useful.

  3. Hours, including holidays

Keep regular hours current and set special hours for holidays, temporary changes, and other dates when the schedule differs.

  4. Contact details and service area

Confirm the phone number, address, service area, and website link. The same core information should appear on the website and other listings the business controls.

  5. Business photos

Add clear, current photos of the premises, team, products, or completed work. Use images that help a customer recognize and evaluate the real business.

  6. Business description

Read the description as a customer would. It should explain what the business does and where it works without promotions, links, or claims that cannot be checked.

  7. Reviews and replies

Check recent reviews and reply where a response is useful. Keep replies short, specific, professional, and free of private customer information.

  8. The website link

Open the link on a phone. Confirm that it reaches the correct domain, loads properly, and shows the same hours, phone number, address, and services as the profile.
